Track & Field Dreams — NCAA Compliance Guidelines
Effective Date: December 1, 2025
Last Updated: December 1, 2025
Track & Field Dreams is committed to fully supporting NCAA rules, regulations, and ethical standards. Our platform is designed to assist high school and college athletes—and NCAA member institutions—in the recruiting and transfer process while maintaining strict compliance with NCAA legislation.
These guidelines outline the NCAA rules we follow, how our platform is structured to protect eligibility, and the safeguards we implement for athletes, parents, and college coaches.
1. Purpose of Track & Field Dreams in NCAA Compliance
Track & Field Dreams serves as a neutral, technology-driven recruiting platform that:
- Helps high school athletes share performance data with college coaches
- Provides a structured, compliant coach–athlete communication process
- Protects athlete eligibility by preventing improper benefits or recruitment practices
- Offers a compliant pathway for college athletes entering the NCAA Transfer Portal
- Allows parents and high school coaches to maintain oversight
Track & Field Dreams does not recruit on behalf of any school, guarantee scholarships, or participate in active solicitation.
2. Adherence to NCAA Recruiting Contact Rules
To comply with NCAA regulations regarding coach–athlete communication:
2.1 Communication Limits
College coaches cannot initiate contact with high school athletes before NCAA-permitted dates.
Track & Field Dreams disables all coach messaging capabilities until:
- The NCAA communication window opens and
- The coach has officially placed the athlete on their recruiting board
High school athletes under age 13 cannot receive direct communication from coaches; all communication is routed through parents/guardians.
2.2 Athletes Cannot Be Contacted Until Eligible
Track & Field Dreams enforces:
- Grade-level verification (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior)
- Automatic blocks on contact with underclassmen when communication is not yet permitted
Coaches may "save," "star," or "mark interest" in an athlete, but no direct communication is allowed until NCAA contact rules permit it.
3. No Inducements or Impermissible Benefits
Track & Field Dreams ensures that:
- No athlete receives money, gifts, services, or benefits from coaches or schools through the platform
- Coaches may not promise scholarships, roster spots, NIL deals, or benefits through the system
- No pay-for-performance incentives or auction-style recruiting occurs
- Athlete visibility is equal regardless of financial background, gender, or school
Track & Field Dreams functions strictly as a neutral information-sharing service.
4. Transfer Portal (NCAA Portal) Compliance
Track & Field Dreams supports college athletes entering the NCAA Transfer Portal while fully complying with NCAA legislation.
4.1 No Contact Until an Athlete Is Officially in the Portal
College athletes may create a Track & Field Dreams profile at any time.
Prior to entering the NCAA Portal, coaches receive anonymous performance metrics only (event + time/distance/height + school).
Identity and communication are revealed only when the athlete:
- Checks the "Officially in the Portal" box
- Confirms NCAA Portal entry
- Agrees to NCAA compliance rules
4.2 Verification
To maintain compliance, Track & Field Dreams requires:
- School confirmation of the athlete
- NCAA ID or official verification
- Documentation confirming portal entry (upon request)
5. Compliance With NCAA Rules for Recruiting Services
NCAA legislation allows third-party recruiting services only if they meet strict standards. Track & Field Dreams fully adheres to these:
5.1 Public Criteria
- All metrics and ranking criteria are objective and publicly available
- No paid rankings, ratings, or subjective evaluations
5.2 Equal Access
- Any NCAA coach may subscribe and receive the same data
- Subscription rates (if applicable) are uniform and not school-specific
- No program receives preferential treatment
5.3 Transparency
- Athlete data is sent to colleges based solely on measurable performance metrics
- No hidden algorithms or biased sorting practices
6. Athlete Data and Eligibility Protection
Track & Field Dreams ensures:
- No personal contact information for high school athletes is shared until NCAA rules allow
- Athlete performance statistics comply with NCAA definitions of permissible public data
- High school athletes maintain NCAA amateurism eligibility
- College athletes do not risk eligibility by providing performance information before portal entry
- All data is used exclusively for recruiting and communication within NCAA rules
7. Third-Party Review and Compliance Officer Access
Track & Field Dreams may:
- Allow NCAA compliance officers to confirm athlete information
- Provide institution-specific compliance reports upon request
- Support internal reviews of suspected recruiting violations
We maintain secure logs of:
- All communication timestamps
- Coaches who mark interest in an athlete
- Date/time an athlete entered the portal
- All messages exchanged (once communication is permitted)
8. Prohibited Activities on the Platform
To ensure adherence to NCAA standards, Track & Field Dreams prohibits:
- Coaches contacting athletes before NCAA-approved communication dates
- Direct solicitation of athletes to specific programs
- Paid boosts, profile promotion, or paid visibility advantages
- Pay-for-play, bidding, or auction-style recruiting practices
- Scholarship or NIL promises before rules permit
- Representation by agents or third-party negotiators
- Any conduct that may jeopardize an athlete's NCAA eligibility
Violations may result in user suspension or removal.
